1 About me

I am a passionate scientist with a background in physics and a love for research and exploration. I have a strong foundation in subjects such as biology, chemistry, and physics, and I enjoy applying my knowledge and skills to a wide range of projects, including bionics, rockets, and protein structures. In addition to my scientific interests, I am also skilled in programming and data analysis, which have helped me to better understand physical theory and analyze data.

For my bachelor’s thesis, I investigated bottlebrush polymers using dynamic light scattering, a technique that allows for the study of the Brownian motion of nanoparticles in solution. This project allowed me to learn about light scattering, data analysis, visualization, and scientific communication, all while studying a relatively simple system.

For my master’s thesis, I tackled a more complex project involving protein-polysaccharide nanoparticles stabilized by thermal treatment. This project introduced me to small-angle X-ray scattering and protein structures, and I had to contend with the many interactions between proteins and polysaccharides at different pH values and temperatures. Despite the challenges, I was able to complete the project to my satisfaction and am even planning to write a publication about my data with my supervising professor, Prof. Christine M. Papadakis.

In addition to my scientific pursuits, I have also taken up the study of Chinese and am interested in learning about Chinese culture. I am excited to continue my scientific journey at the NSRRC, a modern synchrotron located in Taiwan that focuses on neutron and X-ray scattering on soft matter and biomolecular solution structures. I was recommended to the NSRRC by a PhD student named Shin-Ho (林世和) and am looking forward to the opportunity to work with a group that shares my interests in these techniques.
